Are you hung up has Eric Clapton Stoned out of his head saying "are you hung up?" on it. It is part of the whole concept of that album which I believe is Zappa's best. Look at the vid "Inca Roads" on here- it demos the awesome musicianship and has some really trippy animation.

zappa at first glance might seem to be humerous, but actually much of his lyrics are, in fact, biting, ascerbic, social and political commentary.
this album for example comments on the hippie movement, feminism, fascists in government, parents who lie to their children, vanity vs. a healthy mind, and much more.
in the cut "are you hung up?" frank dares you to either get hung up or continue listening...you got hung up and fell into his trap.
listening to zappa takes thinking and attention.
